Principles
Six principles. They describe the organism; they do not police its participants.
Open participation
Anyone can participate. No permission, credential, scene status, genre, location, or prior knowledge required.
Creative freedom
No required medium, genre, aesthetic, method, or level of seriousness. Manifestations may contradict each other.
Mutation
Vataguess is expected to change. What it is now is not what it will be, and nothing it inherits is fixed.
Open commerce
People may distribute and profit from what they make. Profit is not enclosure.
No capture
Owning a particular creation does not mean owning Vataguess, monopolizing the name, or restricting anyone else’s ability to participate.
Basic ethics
Creative freedom does not extend to using Vataguess as a vehicle for hate, dehumanization, extremist abuse, targeted harassment, or violence against people or groups.
No purity test, no canonical genre, no aesthetic obedience. Nobody gains authority by enforcing these at somebody else.
